How to Copy a Bill
Purpose: This job aid explains the procedure for copying a bill in SF Financials. This feature is useful when you want to send out a new bill with all or most of the same information as another bill. Note that temporary bills cannot be copied.
Step 1: On the Financial homepage, select the Billing tile.
Step 2: The Bill Entry Search page will appear by default. Select Copy Single Bill.
Step 3: The Copy Single Bill Search page will appear. Business Unit will default to ‘SFGOV’. We can search for a bill to copy by Invoice, Bill Status, Customer, or Contract. Here, we will search for a recent DPH invoice. Enter ‘DPH’ and click Search.
Step 4: For this example, we will select invoice ‘DPH0000001781’.
Step 5: The Copy Single Bill page appears with some information about the original bill. Select Bill Action Copy Bill.
Step 6: We have the option to create multiple copies. For this example, we will enter Number of Copies ‘2’ and click the Create Bills button.
Step 7: There are now two sequence lines. Enter the Invoice Date that should be printed on the bills. For this example, we will enter ‘10/01/2024’ for the first bill and leave the second one blank to default to today’s date. Click Save.
Step 8: The new invoices are generated with the expected Invoice Dates. Make a note of the new invoice numbers. You can now click the links to update the bill header and line information as needed.
